Seeking Feedback for Demo Release (NSFW)

Plans Before the New Year

I would really, REALLY like to release an updated demo before the new year. This should be entirely possible based one where I currently am with the development.

I still have a bunch more renders to do because I keep adding more. The scene where the PC tops Alan used to only have about 7 renders but now I'm up to 21

How important are the following things for the Demo?

  1. Download size
    - How important to you is it that the the game file be a reasonable download size? Right now, EACH full size (1440p) PNG is 4-7MBs. This makes for a VERY big download. Likely over 2GBs. I can process all the images and convert to JPG but that requires a bunch of code changes too, and then another thorough round of QA which adds a bunch of time.
-I'm considering releasing the game first without optimized images and then releasing an update again AFTER optimizing them.

    - Additionally. Let me know if you actually benefit from 1440p images. If enough people are playing on a 1080p screen it might make sense for me to release a 1920x1080 version of the game. This will take some time, but might be worthwhile if enough people are interested. Also, if this is the case, it's better to start early than later.
  2. Gallery
    - I've built the basic gallery but what I have found is that it's still pretty buggy. I do want to fix it, but I also don't want it to hold up development. What do you think? How important is a gallery for the next demo release?

Last 9 days for 2023, where is the game? :D

What's new Romanti?

You can use programs like Photopea, is online and allows you to save your images in PNG for web with a minimum weight and without losing quality. And about the gallery it isn´t necessary in a demo.

I'd say that depending on how much more content is in the demo I wouldn't need a gallery myself, as long as you can save at states of undress. For later in game development sure.
I can't say that file size for dowloads matters too much. Quick dowloads are nicer to have to get to play quickly. If a demo takes a long while to download, but has little playtime that might put people off though.
As for the question about resolution I can't answer that I'm afraid.

I am very much looking forward to new development on this game. Thank you so much for keeping at it.

Did you mean that the next demo is currently 2GB? How big do you expect the full release to be? For the demo, 2GB isn’t that bad; and with 5 guys, if the full release comes to around 10 GB, that’s not too bad either.

I do have a 1080p screen, but the images will work either way so personally I’m not too worried about that.

As for the gallery, I don’t think one is needed for the next Demo, but it’s definitely something that should be in the full release!

To me, just to be able to play an update is more than enough. Fix all the other minor issues after the game is finished or when there is time to do it.

Downloads of 2gb+ are no problem to me either

Personally, I would just be happy as long as the project doesn't have any game breaking bugs. Everything is pretty secondary to me.

I think it's perfectly fine to release a version with some known issues. I've seen plenty of VNs and games do it. As long as they aren't game breaking and you have plans to fix them eventually.

IMO while releasing a game in a perfect condition is something I feel like a right thing to do, releasing a demo with these 2 issues are fine right now.

However, you should update the demo later to include 2 of these improvements later or, at the very least, the 2nd one (would be better to ad some new content with it tho, like adding extra CGs to scenes, not big ones tho, something small, but it's up to you and only you to decide).

Wow, I am really, REALLY looking forward to the new demo. Great job!
